Found in the Philippines on Luzon Island at elevations of 1200 to 1600 meters as a small sized, cool growing epiphyte with an ascending monopodial habit that has an erect stem enveloped completely by leaf bearing sheaths carrying glabrous, coriaceous, sessile, distichous, linear, conduplicate, margin entire, sub oblique, retuse apically leaves that blooms in the spring on an axillary, upright, 4.8 to 7.2" [12 to 18 cm] long, loosely to 11 flowered inflorescence.
This orchid is related to both V javeriae and V roeblingiana but differs from both of these by the coriaceous [not stiff] leaves, the large curved side lobes of the lip that rise above and around the column, the color of the side lobes which is a white exterior with an deep red brown interior, the fimbriate mid-lobe apex, the non-fragrant flowers, the white, faintly spotted red sepal and petal color and the 2 ridges and 2 horns of the lip
